This is a great use for QR Codes.
Occasionally we come across missing people posters but it is difficult to recall the face. Scan the code and then you can have it in your phone along with the phone number to call. So later when you do see someone who vaguely looks like the photo in the poster, you can just check in your phone and notify if there is resemblance.
(Note: We would generally not recommend putting the small thumbnail image in the middle of the code itself - makes it a bit harder to scan. A separate large photo on top works well!)
